Reasons why your car may not start

It has been along day, a very long day. Work was excruciating. The boss was yelling all over the places. Sales are still not up. You feel the stress accumulating in the middle of your forehead. Now, you are finally off from work. You walk to the parking lot. Open the door your car. And... it won't start. Yes, it won't start. Wonderful day, no? You check your headlights and, even though a bit mad at first, you realize it that you left them on. Now, it is time to find someone to help you out.

Many times, the reason your car doesn't start is as simple as leaving the headlights on and having a dead battery. But in reality, there could be many other reasons, with much more serious problems as the cause. Let's analyze some symptoms of a car that won't start and some of the possible reasons behind the symptoms. Sounds like we are diagnosing a patient, huh? In a way, when a car won't start, we are diagnosing our four-wheel patient.

Symptoms

1) When you turn the key in the ignition, the car stays silent. This problem could point out the battery cables, which could be corroded.

2) When the car makes a clicking noise but doesn't start. This problem could point out to a dead battery and/or a loose connection in the writing to and from the starter.

3) When the car won't start on cold mornings or the car starts but dies. This could point out to the carburetor, in those cars that use them, or to the fuel injection system. In the last case, you will need professional help.

Indeed, problems with a car that won't start are a headache. But with the right person to help, it can be solved!
